Intimate waxing,
the way it should feel.
Quiet, private, unrushed.
No small talk you didn't ask for, no awkward pauses, no clock-watching. A private treatment room, a therapist who has been doing this for years, and a Hollywood or Brazilian that is over faster than the drive here. That's what intimate waxing at Rollo House looks like.
Fully insured through Insync · Level 4 Beauty Therapy · Owner personally trained in intimate waxing for several years
Overview
The treatment, in plain English.
What it is
Intimate waxing removes hair at the follicle from the bikini line, front, back or full Hollywood area using warm strip or hard wax depending on the area and your skin. Grown-out hair means smoother regrowth and a softer feel between appointments than shaving.
Who it's for
For anyone who wants a Hollywood, Brazilian or bikini wax done properly, in a room where you are treated as an ordinary person having an ordinary appointment. Every body welcome, post-partum, menopausal, PCOS, trans, non-binary or simply new to it.
When to book it
Book when hair is around 4–6mm long (roughly 3–4 weeks of regrowth from a previous wax). Avoid retinoids and heavy exfoliation on the area for a few days beforehand. Avoid appointments in the 48 hours before or during a heavy period only if you'd feel more comfortable, otherwise it makes no difference to us.
Why go professional
A rushed wax leaves broken hairs, ingrowns and skin that feels raw for days. A properly delivered wax by an experienced therapist is quick, comfortable and leaves you smooth for weeks, not a stressful ordeal to schedule around.

What "just leaving it" really costs
Shaving the bikini line every few days is not a routine, it is a cycle of stubble, itching and ingrowns that no one owes their body.
If it's left alone
- ◆Ingrown hairs and folliculitis along the bikini line that darken and scar over months of shaving.
- ◆PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) that appears as brown or grey shadows where hair used to be.
- ◆Razor bumps and rash that flare with tight clothing, exercise or sex.
- ◆Persistent itchiness during regrowth that makes it hard to sit still.
- ◆The mental toll of managing appointments, outfits and intimacy around a shaving schedule.
Common mistakes we fix
- ◆Booking intimate wax with a therapist who is clearly rushing you or embarrassed themselves.
- ◆Trying home wax kits on intimate areas and burning the skin.
- ◆Waxing too soon after a previous session, the hair is not long enough to grip.
- ◆Using strong exfoliants right before an appointment and reacting on the day.
- ◆Skipping aftercare and then wondering why ingrowns come back within a week.

Why clients choose Rollo House
What you actually leave with.
Longer smooth periods
Hair pulled from the follicle takes 3–4 weeks to regrow properly, versus daily or every-other-day shaving.
Softer, finer regrowth
Over multiple waxes the hair softens and thins because the follicle is stressed rather than sliced.
Fewer ingrowns
Correct technique plus proper aftercare drops ingrown incidence dramatically compared with shaving.
A room where you are not on display
One client per room, doors closed, no shared curtain cubicles. You dress and undress in privacy.
Therapists who don't flinch
We have waxed every part of every kind of body. Nothing surprises us and nothing embarrasses us.
Add-ons that actually help
Our Hydro-Jelly intimate wax add-on soothes, hydrates and reduces redness so you leave in even better condition than you arrived.
The detail behind the treatment
Everything worth knowing before you book.
This is a normal appointment that has been made weird by too many bad experiences in too many rushed salons. Here is what a good clinic actually does.
Hollywood vs Brazilian vs G-String vs Bikini
Hollywood, everything removed, front and back. Brazilian, everything removed at the front, small strip or triangle left if you prefer. G-string, hair removed to the shape of a g-string outline, front and sides. Bikini, hair removed to the natural bikini line, tidied on top. Basic bikini, a straightforward tidy of the sides and top.
Wax types
Different waxes suit different areas and skin types. Hot/hard wax is generally used on the most sensitive intimate areas because it grips hair rather than skin. Warm strip wax is used on larger, less sensitive areas. We choose based on what your skin is telling us that day, not habit.
The Hydro-Jelly intimate wax add-on
For a further £15 we finish the wax with a Hydro-Jelly mask applied over the treated area. It cools, calms, hydrates and reduces post-wax redness, especially valuable if you are heading to an event, on holiday or simply hate the post-wax bumps.
Menstruation, pregnancy and post-partum
You can be waxed during your period if you'd like, a tampon or menstrual cup is all you need. Some people find themselves more sensitive at that point in their cycle and prefer to reschedule; either is completely fine. Pregnancy waxing is welcomed after 12 weeks in a low-risk pregnancy; post-partum, once you are healed and comfortable, is a genuine relief for many people.
Trans, non-binary and PCOS clients
Rollo House is a safe space for every body. Waxing for gender-affirming reasons, PCOS hair patterns and post-transition maintenance is treated as ordinary work. Language matches yours, gowning is private, and no one comments on your body unless you invite it.
Aftercare that keeps ingrowns away
No hot baths, saunas, swimming or sex for 24 hours. No exercise for 24 hours. Loose clothing for the rest of the day. Start gently exfoliating and moisturising the area from day 3 onwards to keep new hairs growing out cleanly. Rebook every 3–4 weeks to keep the cycle in your favour.
Frequently asked
Straight answers, no fluff.
How much does a Hollywood wax cost?+
£41. Brazilian is also £41, G-string £27, bikini £24 and basic bikini £17. Add a Hydro-Jelly soothing add-on for £15.
How long will it last?+
Most people rebook every 3–4 weeks. Regrowth is finer and softer than shaving, so the smooth period lasts noticeably longer.
Does it hurt?+
The first wax is usually the most intense. It gets easier with each visit because hair grows back finer and your skin adapts. We work in short sections so sensation is manageable.
Can I be waxed on my period?+
Yes, with a tampon or cup. Some clients feel more sensitive at that time of the month and prefer to reschedule, either is completely fine.
Do you wax trans and non-binary clients?+
Yes, without exception. Rollo House is a safe, judgement-free space for every body. Language matches yours and no one comments on your body unless invited to.
Can I be waxed while pregnant?+
Yes, in a low-risk pregnancy from around 12 weeks. Post-partum, once you are healed and comfortable, is welcomed.
How long should my hair be before waxing?+
About 4–6mm, or roughly 3–4 weeks of regrowth. Shorter than that and the wax cannot grip.
How do I avoid ingrown hairs?+
Follow the written aftercare, gently exfoliate from day 3, moisturise, avoid tight clothing for the first day and rebook every 3–4 weeks. Ingrowns drop off dramatically for most people.
Do you serve Haddington, North Berwick and Musselburgh?+
Yes, clients travel to Longniddry Steadings from across East Lothian.
Is your clinic insured?+
Yes, fully insured through Insync and operating from a HIS-registered building.
