What it is
Electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal method recognised regardless of hair colour. A fine probe delivers a controlled current into each follicle, disabling it so it cannot regrow. Our Apilus Epilase is a modern, high-precision machine designed for comfort and speed.

When to book it
Book as soon as regrowth is present but not tweezed, plucking removes the hair we need to reach. Come with clean skin, no makeup on the area, and expect the first session to include a proper consultation.

Electrolysis is the oldest permanent hair removal method and the only one recognised as permanent by the FDA. Done well it is quiet, effective and life-changing. Done poorly it is slow and demoralising. Here is what good looks like.
About the Apilus Epilase
Apilus is a well-established electrolysis machine range, and the Epilase is a modern unit built for comfort, speed and precise energy delivery. It offers faster treatment cycles than older machines, which means more hairs treated per session and less time in the chair.
Session lengths and what they cover
15 minutes, a small isolated area, or a small top-up between longer sessions. 30 minutes, a full chin or upper lip clearance, or several small facial areas. 45 minutes, a larger facial area or a small body area. 60 minutes, a full brow reshape, chin and lip, or a small body area worked comprehensively.
How permanence actually works
Each follicle contains cells that regenerate the hair. Electrolysis disables those cells with a controlled current. Because you are born with all your follicles but they cycle through active and dormant phases, a full course spreads over several months to catch every follicle in its active phase, the phase where treatment works.
When electrolysis beats laser
Grey, white, blonde and very light hair, laser cannot target it, electrolysis can. Individual stubborn hairs left after a laser course. Brow shaping and reshaping where precise removal of specific hairs is more useful than area clearance. Areas around eyes, in ears and inside nostrils where laser is inappropriate. Hormonal growth on chin, jaw or upper lip where the pattern is scattered rather than dense.

Aftercare that keeps skin calm
Mild pinkness for a few hours is normal. Avoid heat, exercise and heavy skincare for 24 hours. No makeup on treated skin for 12 hours. Keep the area clean and moisturised, use SPF if the sun will touch it, and do not pluck any regrowth between sessions.
